The Nottingham Regatta Committee is a management committee formed from members of the Nottingham & Union Rowing Club and the Nottingham Rowing Club. The committee organises two major rowing events each year, namely the Head of the Trent in winter and Nottingham City Regatta in spring. Both events are held under the ARA rules of racing and ARA water safety guidance.

Nottingham City Regatta is a one-day, multi-lane 2000m regatta (1000m for Veterans) held at the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont. In 2009 this event will be on Saturday 25th April.

The Head of the Trent is a head race in three divisions: two races are run over the full course of approximately 6000m, while one race (for beginners) is held over a distance of about 3700m. In 2010 the date of this event is Sunday 28th February.
